Names and faces in Manatee and Sarasota

Jim Zientara, branch manager, and Dave Shugol, financial planner, both at Raymond James Financial Services Inc., attended the Tampa Bay Workshop for branch managers and financial advisers at Raymond James headquarters in St. Petersburg, where they learned about practices in leveraging resources to preserve and grow their practices.

Dr. Daniel Lamar, sports medicine specialist and orthopedic surgeon with Coastal Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Pain Management, recently was hired as lead orthopedic consultant for the NFL’s Tennessee Titans. Dr. Lamar previously worked with the Titans’ current director of sports medicine, Todd Toriscelli, when Toriscelli was head athletic trainer and later director of sports medicine and performance for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dr. Lamar served as an orthopedic surgeon for the Buccaneers. He was a wide receiver and kickoff returner for Manatee High School and Davidson College and served as team captain for both schools. Dr. Lamar is also a sports medicine physician for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Baltimore Orioles, U.S. Soccer Team, IMG Academy, Manatee High School and several other local high schools.

David E. Gurley, attorney at Gurley Vitale, was selected to serve as a presenter for the fifth annual Construction Law in Florida seminar. The event, hosted by The Seminar Group, will focus on the latest legal, financial, real estate, employment, environmental and government issues, will be held in October in Miami. Gurley specializes in construction law and is a sought-after authority and one of a small percentage of lawyers statewide to be board certified in construction law.
