Manatee County’s restaurant and retail scene continues to grow.
New dining options offer choices on both the savory and sweet sides.
Here’s a look at local business openings since December.
New restaurants, retailers around Bradenton
Mama G’s German Bakery and Coffeehouse, 8211 Tourist Center Drive, opened Dec. 15. It’s the fifth location for the local bakery, but first for the University Town Center area. Founder Beate “Mama G” Goldstein has served family recipes in the area since 2015. Close family friends Alyssa Freniere and Blair Sellers are the owners of the new shop, which delivers breads made without milk, sugar, eggs, oils or preservatives.
They serve savory and sweet pastries, such as strudel, as well as breakfast dishes.

Sushi Kami Endless Japanese Fusion, 5726 Ranch Lake Blvd., opened Dec. 31 in East Manatee. The restaurant is located near State Road 70 and Interstate 75. Owner Nick Li’s concept is an all-you-can-eat sushi spot that is not a buffet. The food is made to order and brought out in smaller portions than the a la carte menu, but the supply is as endless as your stomach allows. The cost is $34.95 for dinner, and $24.95 for lunch.

Ryan’s Coffee House, 8231 U.S. 301, opened Jan. 1 in Parrish. Owners Ryan and Krista Lose began with a coffee trailer in Parrish, before snagging a space for their first brick-and-mortar coffee shop. They serve a variety of coffee drinks as well as some signature concoctions that were born during slower times in the coffee trailer.
Some of those drinks include the caramel apple macchiato, raspberry white mocha and Bananas Foster.

Milkshake Factory, 7230 Manatee Ave. W. Unit 13, recently opened in the Beachway Plaza in the Palma Sola area. The shop offers classic and non-dairy milkshake flavors, but also specializes in signature and gourmet milkshakes. Some examples are the chocolate cake shake, campfire s’mores, cookie jar, confetti frosted cupcake and more.
The Milkshake Factory has a grand opening on Jan. 24, where customers can buy one milkshake and get one free between 12 and 4 p.m. The first person in line gets a gift basket, while the first 100 customers get T-shirts. There will also be free samples of housemade chocolates .

Flavaz Slice and Spice, 3306 Manatee Ave. W., recently opened its blend of Italian and Jamaican cuisine. According to its website, Flavaz specializes in Italian classics with Jamaican heat. There’s a jerk chicken pizza and pastas with a Caribbean twist on the menu.

Chipotle Mexican Grill, 7745 State Road 64 E., opened a new location Dec. 30. The popular fast-casual restaurant chain has carne asada and a red chimichurri sauce on its menu for a limited time. Chipotle offers build-your-own burritos and bowls. The new location also has a Chipotlane, a drive-thru for online and mobile orders.

7 Brew, 685 Cortez Road W., is opening its second Bradenton coffee stand soon. But first, the Arkansas-based company is holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday. 7 Brew dropped its pre-built coffee stand at the Cortez Road location in May.
Following the ribbon-cutting, the location will next host a “Swag Day,” on Jan. 24 where customers purchasing a large drink will get a free T-shirt.
7 Brew is known for its customizable drink options and more than 20,000 flavor combinations.

Rick Hendrick Honda, 5904 State Road 64 E., recently opened. The new dealership is the Hendrick Automotive Group’s 16th Honda franchise nationally and second in Florida after Hendrick Honda Bradenton opened at 5515 14th St. W. in 1988.
The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company’s new Bradenton dealership encompasses 56,000 square feet with more than 300 new and pre-owned vehicles on site.
