Smoothie and sandwich spot plans fifth Manatee County store. Here’s where it could go
A fifth Tropical Smoothie Cafe could be coming to Manatee County.
According to paperwork filed with the county’s development services, a 1,600-square-foot Tropical Smoothie Cafe is planned for 8730 U.S. 301 North Unit 107 in the Creekside Commons shopping center in Parrish.
Home improvement store Lowe’s anchors Creekside Commons, where developers have announced plans for over a dozen restaurants since the shopping and dining plaza opened in 2022.
Tropical Smoothie planned for Parrish
Known for health-focused, fast-casual dining, Tropical Smoothie’s menu consists of bowls, smoothies, food and bottled drinks.
Some favorite smoothies include: Detox Island Green, a veggie smoothie consisting of spinach, kale, mango, pineapple, banana and ginger; Sunrise Sunset, a fruit smoothie with strawberries, pineapple, mango and orange juice; and Bahama Mama, a tropical smoothie with strawberries, pineapple, coconut and white chocolate.
Popular food items include the restaurant’s peanut butter and banana crunch flatbread, three-cheese quesadilla, chipotle chicken club sandwich and turkey bacon ranch sandwich.
Tropical Smoothie started in Destin, Florida in 1997, according to company history. It’s grown to more than 1,400 locations in 44 states. Investment firm Blackstone purchased the restaurant franchise in April 2024, according to a news release.
There are four Tropical Smoothie Cafe restaurants in Manatee County:
