New tequila bar, Mexican-inspired restaurant announced for Lakewood Ranch’s Waterside
Agave Bandido, a Mexican-inspired restaurant and tequila bar, is the latest dining and entertainment spot announced for the Waterside Place town center at Lakewood Ranch.
Planned is a 4,000-square-foot restaurant with an indoor bar, offering more than 250 tequilas and mezcals. In addition, there would be a 2,000-square-foot patio with a separate outdoor bar on mile-long Kingfisher Lake.
Proposed opening date: late 2022.
“Our focus has always been to grow in highly sought-after suburban areas, which may have minimal hip locations for dining and nightlife,” Mathew Baum, president of Wolverine Management, said in a press release.
“People want to have an exciting dining experience without driving half an hour into the city. Agave Bandido’s cuisine and atmosphere will offer those lively downtown elements conveniently close to home,” Baum said.
The Lakewood Ranch Agave Bandido would be the company’s second location. The first is in Pembroke Pines.
“What excited us most about Lakewood Ranch is its strong sense of community and emphasis on events and lifestyle, which is what we’re all about. Waterside Place is the perfect location for our fun, energetic brand,” chief operating officer Matt Faul said in the press release.
Agave Bandido would offer patrons handmade cocktails and a full menu of dishes made in-house daily with fresh ingredients. The restaurant will feature many of the same design aesthetics as its flagship location in Pembroke Pines, including eye-catching murals and décor.
“The goal is to transform Waterside Place into a regional foodie destination where residents and visitors can enjoy a diverse array of culinary experiences,” Kirk Boylston, president of Lakewood Ranch Commercial, said in the press release.
Waterside Village is planned for more than 5,000 for-sale and rental homes in a variety of neighborhoods ranging from $280,0000 to over $2 million, and is located in the Sarasota County portion of Lakewood Ranch.
All neighborhoods are connected to Waterside Place via trails and many homes will also be served by water taxis to the town center.
Schroeder-Manatee Ranch, the developer of Lakewood Ranch, broke ground for Waterside Place in 2018. The town center is on a 36-acre peninsula.
Good Liquid Brewing Company opened a brewery and restaurant in Waterside Place in December.
Also announced for the town center are Kore, an Asian-inspired restaurant featuring Korean barbecue, Osteria 500, an Italian restaurant, and Forked at Waterside.
