The first home in The Lake Club, the most exclusive village in Lakewood Ranch, sold for $2.1 million in 2008.
It was the first of many big-ticket homes to sell in the gated Manatee County neighborhood, just north of University Parkway and east of Lorraine Road. The Lake Club was developed for homes selling in the $1 million to $6 million range.
In 2020, Rolling Stone Mick Jagger, whose band will play a show in Tampa in October, bought his partner Melanie Hamrick a home there for $2 million.
A press release for The Lake Club this week reported 88 sales through June, nearly reaching the village’s annual goal of 100 sales in just six months.
“It has performed exceedingly well,” said Laura Cole, executive vice president of LWR Communities. “Because of the upgraded amenity base, it is the highest-end community in Lakewood Ranch.”
The press release on the latest sales figures talks about The Lake Club’s amenities, exclusivity and estates by builder Stock.
“The newest enclave in the community, Genoa, has seen tremendous success as many prospective homebuyers find that their most sought-after features” on estate-sized lots offering spacious outdoor living areas, bonus rooms easily converted into home offices, open floor plans with high ceilings, and plenty of space to allow for multigenerational living, according to the press release.
