On Oct. 1, our nation had a tragic mass killing of nine people in Oregon. The next day we had another catastrophe fostered on the American public by President Obama.

Folks, your liberties and freedoms are under direct attack by this rhetoric of "common sense" gun laws. To further his cause, he had to again directly lie to the American people by saying that cities with tough gun laws have the lowest number of killings by gun-toting individuals. The facts are exactly the opposite. His goal is confiscation of all firearms, which, of course, is the antithesis of our Second Amendment.

This president is the same one whose administration fostered "Fast and Furious," which was a gun-running operation by the U.S. government which sent AR 15s to Mexican drug dealers! This scheme was to have blamed irresponsible use of these weapons by drug lords to influence the American people that guns are evil and should be banned. This scheme was discovered before too much damage had occurred, but one border agent was killed and that was one too many.

The press can do better in their reporting of the facts. But will they? It was reported the shooter in Oregon used an AR-15, assault rifle. 1. It was not an AR-15, and 2. an AR-15 is not an assault rifle as deemed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. It is important to get the facts before reporting it to the public.
