Sarasota Bay doesn’t need Beruff’s high rises
Call it what you will, Long Bar Point, Aqua By The Bay, it’s still the same, another Beruff boondoggle. Another attempt to alter Sarasota Bay to fit his vision of what it should look like, while at the same time to line his own pockets at the detriment and expense of the Bay and those who live and work here.
Initially the word was he proposed two high-rise buildings, one 75 feet and one 145 feet. But that was a mistake. What Beruff is proposing ciould be 24 (twenty-four!), 12 story condos (that’s around 120 feet each) for this development. Twenty-four (24) high-rise buildings along that shoreline.
That doesn’t include the mangroves he’ll destroy, the fishery nurseries, and just the plain beauty of the shoreline on that part of Sarasota Bay. If Beruff wants to build high rises, do it somewhere else, like Miami where he’s from. Don’t make Sarasota Bay another eyesore like so many other places here in Florida.
