A Bradenton man was charged with trespassing on school property after riding a Manatee County school bus, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Erik D. Hall, 27, was arrested Wednesday morning at his home in the 2200 block of 71st Street West in Bradenton. At around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, Hall boarded a Manatee school bus in the 8200 block of Ninth Avenue Northwest. Deputies said the bus driver thought he was a student and told him to put a shirt on. Hall did not comply, but sat down several seats behind the driver.

As the bus was moving, deputies said Hall got up and approached the driver and told her that he was not a student, was not supposed to be on the bus, and was 28 years old. He was just looking for a ride home, according to a release.

Deputies said that when the bus driver pulled into Manatee High School, she waived down an administrator and had them get the Bradenton Police Department student resource officers. Hall was questioned by police and released.

It was later discovered that Hall was possibly responsible for a burglary that occurred the same morning in the same area Hall came from in northwest Bradenton, according to the release. Hall was located at his residence Wednesday morning and arrested for trespassing on school property.

Possible burglary charges are pending, the sheriff’s office said.
