Sarasota police: Hit-and-run driver did $31,000 in damage to parking garage gate

The Sarasota Police Department is trying to identify the person who did about $31,000 in damage to a parking garage gate at on Main Street.

About 2:15 a.m. May 8, officer responded to 1390 Main St. after a security guard heard a large crash and noticed a vehicle driving away from the gate area on Mira Mar Court approximately 250 feet east of Main Street. The gate is connected to the Zenith Insurance building.

The suspect vehicle arrived at the valet at the building approximately 7:30 p.m. the night before.
