Masked, armed man looking to rob 7-Eleven in Bradenton leaves when he doesn't see store clerk

MANATEE -- An armed man tried to rob a 7-Eleven early Tuesday, but when he didn't see anyone there he left, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The man walked into the 7-Eleven at 3515 53rd Avenue W. at 5:44 a.m., according to a release. The 56-year-old store clerk saw him enter the store masked and with a handgun, look around and leave when he didn't see anyone there.

Deputies arrived on scene shortly afterward and learned no one was injured and the man was gone.

He was described as a masked man about 6-feet tall, wearing blue hoodie and blue jeans.
