Man charged with murder in deaths of man, woman in Bradenton
MANATEE -- A man has been charged with murder in connection with the deaths of Karl Tuxford and Jordan Finlon in Manatee County last week, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Dwayne Cummings, 38, has been in the Manatee County jail since last week when he was charged with two counts of armed kidnapping.
Deputies said Tuxford, 38, was found shot to death on Jan. 19 in his vehicle in the 1100 block of Eighth Avenue East, Bradenton, after Bradenton police responded to several reports of gunfire. Finlon, 23, was found dead the same afternoon on the side of Bishop Harbor Road in northern Manatee County.
Detectives with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office Homicide Investigative Unit later said that Tuxford and Finlon died after they were kidnapped at gunpoint; he was shot five times and she was stabbed more than 30 times as revenge for stealing money from one of the suspects.
A second possible suspect, Frederick Douglas, 43, was also arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for domestic battery. The sheriff's office said last week it was unsure whether Douglas would be charged in the homicides.
The investigation continues with additional arrest or arrests possible, deputies said in a release Monday.
Anyone with information on these cases can call the sheriff's office at 941-747-3011, ext. 2519 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
