Estranged wife of robbery victim found with gunshot wounds, cops say

The estranged wife of a robbery victim was found in a car with gunshot wounds as Manatee County deputies responded to a robbery call early Wednesday.

Around 4:55 a.m., deputies responded to a robbery in the 16200 block of County Road 675, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. A suspect car that was parked on Rye Road contained a 49-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, both of whom had gunshot wounds.

The woman is the estranged wife of the man who lives at the house that had been robbed, according to the sheriff’s office.

The man and woman were transported to the hospital. Detectives continue to investigate the incident, but no arrests have been made.
