Beruff, Mann appointed to SWFMD board
Carlos Beruff and George Mann have been re-appointed to the governing board of the Southwest Florida Water Management District, Gov. Rick Scott's office has announced.
Beruff, 54, of Bradenton, is a developer affiliated with Medallion Home Gulf Coast. He was reappointed for a term beginning March 8, 2013, and ending March 1, 2017, the governor's office said.
Mann, of Polk City, is a retired business development manager for Treatt USA. He was reappointed for a term beginning March 8, 2013, and ending March 1, 2017, the governor's office said.
The two appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
The water management district oversees water issues affecting 16 counties, including Manatee and Sarasota.
Sarasota lawmakers recently withdrew proposals that the Manatee County Commission contended would have diluted its representation on the district's governing board. The bills would have eliminated four of 13 seats on the board.
