Bite Squad, a restaurant delivery service founded in Minneapolis in 2012, is expanding into the Bradenton-Sarasota market on Tuesday.
Nearly 110,000 households in the Manatee-Sarasota region will be served as a result of Bite Squad’s merger with Ashley’s Food Delivery and Doorstep Deliver, according to company officials.
“The area has a vibrant dining scene with a lot of culinary diversity,” Bite Squad co-founder and CEO Kian Salehi said in a news release. “We’re excited to bring that to our customers at their homes and businesses.”
Upon launch, Bite Squad will deliver from more than 80 restaurants throughout the Bradenton-Sarasota region, including Gecko’s Grill & Pub, Tsunami Sushi & Hibachi Grill, Valentino Pizzeria Trattoria and Flovors of India. Most orders arrive within 40 minutes, and a complete list of available restaurants will populate on the Bite Squad app after the user enters a zip code.
Bite Squad offers real-time technology, so customers can track the delivery driver’s progress to their home or office. Customers also receive e-mails or texts to better pinpoint the order’s arrival time.
“Thousands of customers who have used Ashley’s Food Delivery and Doorstep Delivery will now get the same great service, but with the added benefit of Bite Squad’s advancing technology,” Salehi said. “It’s a
perfect growth opportunity for us, and will also ensure that our customers’ food arrives in the best possible condition.”
