Two Bradenton-based athletes were among the top performers over the weekend at the annual Dick Vitale Intercollegiate Clay Court Classic at the Lakewood Ranch Tennis Center.

University of Michigan junior Carter Lin of Bradenton teamed up with fellow Wolverine player Matias Siimar to win the men’s doubles competition.

In the men’s singles final, Andres Andrade of the University of Florida and a 2017 graduate of IMG Academy in Bradenton, defeated Michigan’s Siimar.

Josie Kuhlman of the defending national champion Florida Gators beat Monica Mathias of UCF in the woman’s singles final. Matias and UCF teammate Natalia Serrano won the women’s doubles competition.

The annual tournament raises money for the V Foundation for Cancer Research and has raised more than $400,000 since its inception seven years ago, Vitale said.
