Shuffleboard | Seven new referees available for masters tournaments

Jerry and Marilyn Everett have announced that seven new referees and three refreshed referees are available to help with the Masters Tournaments, call discs, settle disputes, etc., from their school on Feb. 27 at Bradenton Shuffle Club.

The newly qualified referees are Donna Schultz of Cincinnati and Braden Castle; Terry McNamara of Bradenton Tropical Palms; Al Roberts, who has returned with vigor after a long absence; Tom and Cheryl

Putnam of Michigan and Trailer Estates; Heather Godson of Bradenton Tropical Palms; and John Roberson of Golf Lakes Mobile Home Park.

Refresher referees are George Godson, Pat Tomko and Margaret Hartzler.

These helpful volunteers will be in action during the upcoming three simultaneous Masters Tournaments at Bradenton Shuffle Club on March 23-26. Players, referees and spectators will find lunches available to purchase at the Masters this year.

Because of an election polling place conflict, the tournament at Avon Park will be Monday and Wednesday, and also on March 14, FL A-22A at St. Cloud, A-23B at Clearwater, 75 points, Any. March 5 at Bradenton, Open Southwest Coast District board meeting and election of officers. All officers are up to be re-elected for next season plus one new position established and inducted, tournament director representative Dolores Brown.

On March 19 at Bradenton Shuffle Club, Hoss Collar at 9:00, $5 entry fee. Bring your own lunch, then at 1 p.m. induction of a couple dozen new members in the new SWCD Hall of Fame. Guests.

On Friday, April 1, Realize Bradenton will conduct a shuffleboard event for several invited young adult players at Bradenton Shuffle Club in an effort to spread our sport among a new generation.

Classes will be held, a turkey shoot, etc. Guest spectators welcome, 6 to 9 p.m. Bradenton Shuffle Club will offer Gold and Black Games on Monday, Wednesday and Friday fromMay to September. Cost is 25 cents per game, prizes to winning color.
