Bradenton Marauders to host Seinfeld Night
BRADENTON -- The Bradenton Marauders will have a Seinfeld Night this Saturday.
The night, which will honor the team's middle infielders, will feature Marauders staff dressed as Seinfeld characters and a Festivus celebration as McKechnie Field is transformed into Vandelay Industries Park for the night, according to a news release.
"Shortstop Kevin Newman and second baseman Kevin Kramer, the Bradenton double play duo whose monikers match the famous Seinfeld characters, will lead the Marauders against the Tampa Bay Rays' High-A affiliate," according to the release.
Newman and Kramer were drafted in the first and second round, respectively, in the 2015 draft.
First pitch against the Charlotte Stone Crabs will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday with gates opening at 5:30 p.m.
Free admission and a chance to throw the ceremonial first pitch will be offered to any mailman who comes to the game in uniform as well as any president of a Florida community home owners association. A portion of the paid tickets will benefit the Human Fund.
The concessions at the field will also feature Seinfeld-themed fare, including cereal and milk, big salads, Double Dip Your Chip Nachos, Mini Muffin Stumps and marble rye loaves, according to the release.
There will also be Seinfeld-themed contests during the game.
