Bradenton Marauders | Saturday's games canceled by persistent rain, forecast for more
The Bradenton Marauders' first suspended game of the season was followed immediately by the first rainout.
Persistent rain early Saturday and the forecast for more forced the Marauders to cancel the remainder of Friday's suspended game and Saturday's regularly scheduled game against the Dunedin Blue Jays at McKechnie Field.
The games will not be rescheduled. Friday's game, which was knotted 1-1 after six innings, will go into the books as a tie, and all stats will count. Bradenton entered Saturday trailing Palm Beach by two games in the Florida State League's South Division second-half standings. The Cardinals had a doubleheader against Lakeland.
The 2015 Marauders Team Card Set giveaway scheduled for Saturday has been rescheduled for Friday, Aug. 14. The first 500 fans at that game will receive the card set. Tickets for the July 25 game can be exchanged for a ticket to any remaining Bradenton Marauders home game in 2015.
The Marauders will head to Clearwater for a game at 1 p.m. Sunday. They return home to face the Threshers on Tuesday and Wednesday.
