Gonzalez’s single leads Daytona over Bradenton in 14 innings
Luis Gonzalez hit an RBI single in the top of the 14th inning to lead the Daytona Tortugas to a 7-6 win over the Bradenton Marauders on Wednesday.
Gabriel Ovalle scored the go-ahead run on the single after he was hit with a pitch to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt.
Daytona starter Wyatt Strahan struck out two while allowing three runs and three hits over six innings. Aaron Quillen (1-0) got the win with two innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Miguel Rosario (0-1) took the loss in the Florida State League game.
