Hughston, Moore lift Bradenton over Daytona 5-3
Casey Hughston homered and doubled as the Bradenton Marauders defeated the Daytona Tortugas 5-3 on Tuesday.
Ty Moore homered and singled with three RBIs and a pair of runs for Bradenton.
Geoff Hartlieb got Brantley Bell to hit into a double play with a runner on first to end the game for his second save of the season.
Bradenton took the lead in the first when Hughston hit a solo home run and Moore hit a three-run home run.
After Daytona scored a run in the second on a home run by Reydel Medina, the Tortugas cut into the deficit in the sixth inning when Shane Mardirosian hit a two-run home run.
The Marauders tacked on another run in the eighth when Moore scored on a ground out.
Bradenton starter Logan Sendelbach (3-5) picked up the win despite allowing three runs and six hits over 5 2/3 innings.
Opposing starter Jonathon Crawford (0-9) took the loss after allowing four runs and three hits while not recording an out.
Bradenton improved to 4-2 against Daytona this season.
