Fire Frogs beat Marauders on walk-off grand slam in first game of doubleheader sweep

Ray-Patrick Didder hit a walk-off grand slam with one out in the seventh inning, give the Florida Fire Frogs a 7-4 victory over the Bradenton Marauders in the first game of a doubleheader Friday.

After Bradenton’s Stephen Alemais hit an RBI double in the top of the fifth, Florida cut the deficit to 4-3 in the bottom of the inning when Brett Cumberland hit an RBI double, scoring Carlos Castro.

Didder homered and doubled, driving in four runs in the win.

Mitchell Tolman doubled, singled and stole a base for the Marauders.

The second game of the doubleheader was no better for the Marauders as they managed just two hits in a 3-0 loss.

The doubleheader sweep dropped Bradenton’s second-half record to 23-17. That leaves the Marauders 1.5 games behind the Fort Myers Miracle in the race to earn the second-half division title and a playoff spot.
