Marauders keep Cardinals’ bats quiet in 3-1 win
Jupiter The Bradenton Marauders remained perfect against Palm Beach this season by pounding out 12 hits and getting solid pitching throughout in a 3-1 win.
The Cardinals’ final 13 batters were retired in order by relievers Brett Helton and Seth McGarry, who earned his eighth save of the season.
Bradenton starter Mitch Keller (4-2) earned the win and struck out five over five innings in his second start back off the disabled list. Keller allowed one run on four hits and walked one batter.
Marauders second baseman Mitchell Tolman drove home two Bradenton runs in the second inning. Third baseman Ke’Bryan Hayes (3 for 5) and first baseman Will Craig (2 for 5, RBI) cracked back-to-back doubles in the ninth to extend the lead to 3-1.
