Live updates: 2024 Manatee County high school football scores in Week 9
After one week of recovery efforts following Hurricane Milton’s devastating impact on Manatee County, high school football is back Friday night.
And there’s a potential classic brewing with Manatee County’s two best teams, according to the Florida High School Athletic Association’s power rankings, squaring off.
Palmetto travels to Manatee in the “Cross River Rivalry” game. The two teams are a combined 11-1 this season, with Palmetto boasting an undefeated record.
The Tigers have outscored opponents 198-93 in six games, while the Hurricanes have outscored opponents 225-93 in six games. Palmetto is ranked 62nd and Manatee is ranked 22nd in MaxPreps’ state rankings.
But that’s not the only high-profile game on the Week 9 scheduled. Parrish Community, with its lone loss coming against Palmetto, is aiming to keep its playoff chances alive at district foe Lennard Ruskin.
Lakewood Ranch and Bayshore also have district home games, with the latter seeking its first win of 2024.
