High school football Week 5 preview: Bradenton Christian

Deltona Trinity Christian Academy (2-1) at Bradenton Christian (0-3)

When: 7:30 p.m.

Online: NFHSNetwork.com

The scoop: This could be a shootout, which suits the Panthers’ offense. Bradenton Christian averaged more than 26 points per game last year, while Trinity Christian Academy averaged more than 32 during the regular season on the way to a playoff berth. The connection between quarterback Dominick Otteni and wide receiver Kevin Etienne still drives Bradenton Christian’s offense. Otteni has thrown for 565 yards in three games, and Etienne is second in Manatee County with 339 receiving yards. Linebacker Brett Gerber has been a bright spot on defense with 53 tackles — more than double his closest teammate — and seven of the Panthers’ nine tackles for loss.

Prediction: Bradenton Christian 31, Trinity Christian Academy 28
