Prep roundup | IMG adds Florida opponent to 2016 football schedule

IMG Academy's football schedule has a Florida opponent on it after the Ascenders announced via Twitter on Thursday that they're taking on Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna on Nov. 5.

The Ascenders ran through their 2015 slate unscathed, turning in the program's first unbeaten campaign in three years of varsity football. Several seniors have departed, including two-year starting corner back Saivion Smith, who is off to LSU, and highly-touted quarterback Shea Patterson, who early enrolled at Ole Miss after garnering Most Valuable Player award honors at last weekend's annual U.S. Army All-American Game.

Chaminade is a Class 3A program and the Lions made the playoffs as a district runner-up last fall, before bowing out in the first round.
