Volleyball: Bruins' playoff bid falls short at Naples Lely

Bayshore High suffered a hard-fought, four-set loss Tuesday night in the Class 5A regional playoffs at Naples Lely, 25-22, 25-15, 15-25, 25-22.

JoJo Muldoon led the Bruins with a huge night at the net, finishing with seven kills and 11 blocks, while Ashlyn Davis (seven kills, two blocks, ace), Jasmine Youngthunder (17 assists, four blocks, three kills) and Reesie Karkoff (eight digs) also played well.

Alexus Norman, playing through an injury suffered a night earlier in Bayshore's district championship match, collected six kills and a block.

"We had some little things going on," Bayshore coach Nancy Cothron said, "but they played with great heart tonight."

The Bruins finished with an 11-7 record.
