Local roundup for Jan. 29: Manatee girls hoops team rolls to victory

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Manatee 59, Shorecrest Prep 23: Senior guard Olivia Kendall and sophomore forward Carly Paynter each scored 12 points for the visiting Hurricanes (13-9).

Paynter also had 14 rebounds, six blocks and five steals. Sophomore point guard Andrea Soto contributed 11 points, 12 steals and seven assists.

Manatee hosts Bayshore at 6 p.m. Thursday for senior night.
