Saint Stephen’s routs Southeast in girls soccer; Manatee, Palmetto post wins
Kendall Miller and Ayla Johnston both scored two goals and four other teammates had a goal apiece as the visiting Saint Stephen’s Falcons blanked Southeast 8-0 in girls soccer Wednesday.
Also scoring for the Falcons (2-0) were Aubrey Dunbar, Katie Pierce, KK Hart and Jaclyn Schlossberg. Pierce, Hart and Johnston added assists. The Falcons had 21 shots on goal.
Manatee 4, Palmetto 1: The Hurricanes beat the Tigers as Molly Sétsma had a hat trick with three goals and an assist. Ally Rouifed added a goal and an assist, and Eva Preston had an assist for the Canes (2-0).
Palmetto 3, Dixie Hollins 2: The Tigers on Tuesday opened their season with a victory as sophomore Jayden Zipperer booted two goals, including the go-ahead tally in the 77th minute. Senior Alexandra Mercer added a goal in the winning effort.
Junior Morgan Collins had eight saves for Palmetto in goal.
In the JV match, Palmetto won 4-2 with goals by Michaelena Sabatino, Karime Camarillo-Solis (2) and Sydney Acreman.
