BRADEN RIVER (5-1) AT SARASOTA BOOKER (3-6)

When: 7 p.m. Monday

The scoop: Too many athletes for the Pirates as Booker plays its final game of the season. Originally scheduled for early October, this game was bumped to Monday so Braden River could play a makeup game with Palmetto on a Friday. QB Bryan Gagg doesn’t have a shortage of options with RB Deshaun Fenwick, RB Cam White, WR Knowledge McDaniel, WR Craivon Koonce and TE Travis Tobey all capable of scoring at any time. DB Tyrone Collins is the lockdown corner that can make the opposition into a one-dimensional offense.

Jason Dill’s prediction: Braden River 49, Sarasota Booker 7

LITHIA NEWSOME (6-2 OVERALL, 4-1 DISTRICT) AT MANATEE (4-2, 4-1)

When: 7 p.m. Monday

The scoop: This Class 8A-District 6 contest is a makeup game, and one that’s critical to Manatee’s playoff chances. The Hurricanes rose to the seventh spot in Region 2 in the latest playoff points standings. Manatee received a much-needed bye week, so the Canes should be well-rested for Newsome. QB Keyon Fordham got banged up in the first half of the loss to Sarasota Riverview that clinched the district for the Rams. If he’s healed and ready to go, look out for the offensive fireworks.

Jason Dill’s prediction: Manatee 42, Lithia Newsome 21
