Prep roundup: Saint Stephen’s girls win on golf course, volleyball court; Bayshore volleyball also victorious

Maria Huang (43) finished one shot better than her sister, Catherine Huang (44), as Saint Stephen’s defeated Out-of-Door Academy and Sarasota Christian in a tri match Monday at Links at Greenfield Plantation.

The Falcons (186) improved to 7-0 this season; their other qualifying scores came from Kendall Miller (49) and Bella O’Donnell (50).

Sarasota Christian (220) finished second, led by medalist Sicilia Xie. ODA (221) was third, with qualifying scores from Christy Wyatt (47), Lexi Murphy (52), Madeline Crosby (60) and Sarah Chinnici (62).

BAYSHORE 3, IMAGINE SCHOOL AT NORTH PORT 1

Hannah Crum had 27 assists and six aces to help the Bruins (10-9) defeat the Sharks 12-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-19.

Other standout performance included Briana Mays (16 kills, 2 stuff blocks), Kenia Cuqui-Bello (10 kills, 3 aces) and Monica Pierre (3 kills).

Bayshore hosts Tarpon Springs at 7 p.m. Wednesday for senior night.

SAINT STEPHEN’S 3, INSPIRATION ACADEMY 0

The Falcons improved to 6-9 with a 25-4, 25-6, 25-7 victory at home.

Saint Stephen’s top performers included LeNae Jones (9 aces, 12 assists, 5 digs) and Sophie Bilik (8 aces, 8 kills, 6 digs).

The Falcons travel to Imagine School of North Port on Wednesday.
