Bradenton golfer Nelly Korda turns pro
BRADENTON -- Bradenton's Nelly Korda turned pro Wednesday.
The younger sister of LPGA Tour golf star Jessica, Nelly followed suit by declaring her intentions at this week's LPGA Symetra Tour stop in Beaumont, Calif.
Korda told the Symetra Tour she decided Monday during breakfast that she would turn pro this week. The announcmenet came via her Twitter and Instagram social media accounts.
Originally, Korda was tabbed as an amateur entrant into this week's tournament, the IOA Championship presented by the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament with a $100,000 prize pool starts Friday and wraps up Sunday.
