DIRECTIONS: From downtown Bradenton, take State Road 64 East past I-75 intersection. Turn left just past the intersection onto Upper Manatee River Road. The entrance to the course is 1.3 miles down on the left.
HOLE TO REMEMBER: The 10th green is difficult to access because a huge oak blankets the entrance on the par-5, 557-yard hole. Water down the left-hand side and a hazard to the right of the fairway make this a thinking golfer’s hole.
UNFORGETTABLE: Some area players compare the 173-yard, par-3 15th to No. 17 at the TPC at Sawgrass-Stadium Course, with a marsh and the river often coming into play. The 15th begins a difficult four-hole closing stretch.
INSIDE INFO: Discount golf is available all summer through such deals as the Big Summer Card.
DID YOU KNOW?: The course record from the back tees (68) was established by Nike Tour player Sean McCarty the week Waterlefe opened.
