Social media reacts to University of Florida’s gator-inspired uniforms

Coming off a one-point home loss to LSU that dropped the University of Florida out of the Associated Press Top 25 poll, it already was a difficult start to the week for Gator Nation.

Then came this on Monday night:

When the Gators host Texas A&M on Saturday night at The Swamp, the players will look the part, wearing the one-time alternate uniform that the school said was the culmination of an 18-month process.

That familiar orange and blue color scheme synonymous with the University of Florida? Not this weekend.

The reaction on social media was, to put it lightly, not favorable. Here’s a sampling:
