After two years in the NFL, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has already established himself as a bit of a road warrior. His penchant for winning big games on others’ home turfs is well known and is something he likely developed during his time at Mississippi State.

Prescott talked about the challenges he faced in the SEC during an interview on the podcast Pardon My Take. Prescott was asked which was the tougher task, playing a road game in the NFL or doing so in the SEC.

After reflecting on the question, the 2016 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year went the college route.

“Probably playing a road game in the SEC. The SEC’s just a little bit louder, [has] a little more passionate fans,” Prescott said. “They’ve kind of embraced that role as being the SEC and being known for the loud stadiums and everything that comes with that.”

Prescott was then asked to name the toughest SEC stadium to play in. He struggled to narrow it down to one team’s stadium but eventually rattled off three of the Bulldogs’ divisional opponents.

“They’re all pretty tough,” Prescott said. “When you’re traveling on the road, and you’re No. 1 going into Alabama or when you’re going and playing in Death Valley [LSU] at night, those are some tough games. I tell ya, Auburn has something about it that was just always a fun atmosphere and a great atmosphere. The fans are eye level with you, and that can be an incredible game at night as well.”

Prescott’s road record in the NFL and in the SEC back up his assertion that playing in college was the tougher task. In his first two seasons with the Cowboys, Prescott has a 12-4 record in road games with consecutive 6-2 showings. While Prescott was at Mississippi State, the Bulldogs were 7-9 in SEC road games, which included a 3-1 mark in his senior season.
