Cardinal Mooney rallies past DeSoto County in preseason football
Briefly
The Cougars turned three DeSoto County second-half turnovers into 17 points in a 29-15 win. Quarterback Tristan Hillerich gave Mooney a lead with a 19-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, while freshman Daryl Crenshaw and sophomore Rees Swink scored on a 2-yard run and 13-yard reception, respectively, within a 2-minute, 15-second span.

Turning point
One play after a lost fumble by the Cougars, Mooney junior Jack Koscho intercepted a Malcolm Smith pass and raced 54 yards to the DeSoto County 34 with 4:03 left in the third quarter. The play led to a 34-yard field goal by Ryan Blechta.
