Marauders top Mets
Tito Polo hit a go-ahead single in the fourth and starter J.T. Brubaker posted a season-high six strikeouts to lead Bradenton past St. Lucie 7-4 Friday in Florida State League play at McKechnie Field.
Brubaker scattered seven hits across six innings and allowed two earned runs. That was more than good enough as Chase Simpson drove in a run in the first, Justine Maffei (2 for 4) drove in a run in the fourth and Christian Kelley drove in two with a fifth-inning single. Michael Suchy capped the night with an RBI single in the eighth for the Marauders (59-56, 21-26).
