Marauders blank Mets 4-0
The Bradenton Marauders blanked the St. Lucie Mets 4-0 on Wednesday night at Tradition Field. Yeudy Garcia shook off five walks by limiting St. Lucie to just two hits over 6 2/3 innings.
Bradenton did all the scoring with two outs in the sixth against Alex Palsha. Connor Joe tapped a single down the right field line to start the rally. Joe scored all the way from first on Wyatt Mathisen’s double to left-center. Taylor Gushue doubled home Mathisen. Gushue moved to third on a wild pitch while Michael Suchy walked. Suchy stole second base and both he and Gushue scored on Pablo Reyes’ single to right field.
Tanner Anderson stranded a pair of Mets by getting the final out of the seventh on his first pitch, inducing a come-backer from Jhoan Urena. Anderson pitched the eighth inning and gave way to RHP Luis Heredia, who tossed a scoreless ninth.
Up next: Stephen Tarpley (4-3, 4.43) takes the hill for the Marauders against the Mets on Thursday. Scarlyn Reyes (7-9, 6.82) will pitch for St. Lucie. First pitch will be at 6:30 p.m. Listen online at BradentonMarauders.com.
