Knowing how much sand to take is integral for hitting effective greenside bunker shots. And in this week’s Bradenton Herald Golf Tip, Legacy Golf Club head pro Cindy Bevelhymer demonstrates the erase the footprint drill for solid bunker play.
“It makes it a lot easier to get out of the bunker,” Bevelhymer said. “Because a normal chip, you just take your shoulders. You use your shoulders. Getting out of the sand, you just want to make sure you follow through. That’s erase that whole footprint, so you want to make sure you get that toe part, too.”
