Marauders outslug Dunedin

Austin Coley (10-7) survived a four-run first, didn’t allow another run and earned the win in Bradenton’s 8-5 victory against North -division leader Dunedin in the opener of a four-game Florida State League series Wednesday.

The four-run inning was partially offset by Cole Tucker’s two-run homer in the top-half of the first for Bradenton (47-41), which tied the score in the second. The Marauders add two runs in both the fifth and sixth off Dunedin starter Chris Rowley (7-2).

Elvis Escobar hit his fourth home run of the year for the Marauders, and catcher Elias Diaz continued his rehab assignment by going 4 for 5.

Luis Heredia pitched the ninth for his 10th save.

Up next: Buddy Borden starts for Bradenton in Game 2 of the series. Dunedin has not announced its starter. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in Dunedin. Live streaming audio will be available online at www.BradentonMarauders.com.
