BRADENTON 4, TAMPA 2

The Marauders topped the Yankees on Saturday night to earn a split of the four-game series.

In the top of the first, Jordan Luplow gunned down Devyn Bolasky at the plate after a single by Abiatal Avelino.

The Marauders struck first in the bottom half of the inning on an RBI single by Taylor Gushue.

The Yankees loaded the bases with two outs in the top of the fifth inning, but Yeudy Garcia struck out Austin Aune to end the inning. But the Yankees got on the board in the top of the sixth when Vicente Conde hit an RBI triple to center field to tie the game at one. They took a 2-1 lead when Conde scored on a passed ball.

Connor Joe responded with an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth to make it 2-2. Gushue gave the Marauders a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI double off the bottom of the right field wall, and the Marauders added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth when Joe scored on a passed ball.

Garcia pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing seven hits, two runs (one earned), and three walks with five strikeouts.
