Bradenton’s Mika Liu drops first Curtis Cup match
IMG Academy’s Mika Liu and her United States teammates are tied with Great Britain and Ireland, 3-3, after the first day of the 2016 Curtis Cup in Dublin, Ireland.
Liu partnered with Andrea Lee in Friday’s foursome, or alternate shot, matches. Liu and Lee won two of the first three holes against Charlotte Thomas and Leona Maguire, before the GB&I team rolled out a 4-and-2 victory in the 39th edition of the biennial match play event for female amateur golfers.
Liu, who is committed to play college golf at Stanford in 2017, did not feature in Friday afternoon’s fourball, or best ball, session.
