Rain suspends Marauders’ series opener against Yankees
Marauders 0, Yankees 0, susp. 3 1/2
After having a game canceled Monday and an off day Tuesday, Bradenton’s series-opener against Tampa was suspended midway through the fourth inning Wednesday in Florida State League play. The game against the Yankees will resume at 5 p.m. Thursday. A second game will follow its conclusion.
Stephen Tarpley, who started the game for Bradenton, surrendered two hits and struck out a pair in four innings before the delay. The Marauders collected three hits and walked twice against Yankees starting pitcher Will Carter without scoring a run.
Up next: Right-hander Austin Coley (8-3, 3.41) is scheduled to start for Bradenton against Ian Clarkin (4-5, 3.62) in the regularly scheduled game Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 30 minutes after the final out of the suspended game.
