Lakewood Ranch’s Mark Napier earns Coach of the Year honor

Lakewood Ranch has another trophy to take away from its historic 2016 girls season. Head coach Mark Napier, after guiding the Mustang girls to the Class 4A championship in Bradenton, was named the 4A Coach of the Year by the Florida Dairy Farmers on Friday. Ranch, which also had two individual champions, was Manatee County’s first team champion in 26 years after winning both region and district titles.

Napier is now nominated for the state’s overall coach of the year award, which will be announced next week.
