A wild ending to an NFL playoff game, dominant winning streaks on the hardwood and pitch and a memorable technical foul are a few highlights to this week's Numbers Game.

And away we go.

Number of technical fouls Palmetto athletic director Kenny Ansbro received during his tenure as the Tigers' boys basketball coach. Why is this a significant digit when Ansbro last coached Palmetto's basketball team in 2006? Well, Ansbro is a Butch Hughes disciple, having been an assistant for 11 seasons under the legendary coach who passed away in late December. During Ansbro's seven-year tenure as the Tigers head coach, he picked up just one technical foul and it was to honor Hughes, when Hughes' mother had passed away. To do so, Ansbro asked the referee to give him one.

Southeast girls basketball's winning streak. The Seminoles have amped up the defense to the tune of allowing just 39.4 points per game during the current streak. The offense has clicked with 61.3 points per game. That streak also includes a pivotal 12-point victory at rival St. Petersburg Lakewood, the fourth-ranked team in Class 5A, last Thursday. At 8-1 in district play, the Noles hold a half-game lead over Lakewood for the top spot.

Consecutive field goals converted from inside 30 yards in NFL playoff games prior to Minnesota's Blair Walsh misfiring on a potential game-winner on Sunday. Walsh hooked his 27-yard attempt left, sending the Seattle Seahawks to the next round of the playoffs. Kickers were 188-for-190 on field goal attempts of 27 yards or shorter this past season entering Sunday's games, according to ESPN Stats & Info. Walsh's errant field goal was also the shortest miss on a potential go-ahead kick with less than two minutes remaining in playoff history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The last missed field goal attempt from less than 30 yards in the playoffs came when Shayne Graham missed a 28-yarder for Cincinnati in a wild card loss to the Jets in 2010. However, Walsh, who was 97 percent from inside 30 yards before Sunday's miss, accounted for all nine of the Vikings' points in the 10-9 loss.

Days, prior to Monday's match with Venice, since the Lakewood Ranch boys soccer team last lost. The Mustangs winning streak encompasses two months after the club dropped three of their first four games to start the season. Venice was responsible for two of those defeats. Since losing to Tampa Jesuit on Nov. 9, the Mustangs have gone 11-0-2. The two draws were against district foes Manatee and North Port, with the latter hosting the Mustangs on Thursday. During the streak, Lakewood Ranch has outscored opponents 50-7 and has kept five straight clean sheets.

Earned runs allowed in 48 innings pitched by Neftali Feliz last season. The reliever signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates, who are Bradenton's spring tenants, last week. Feliz inked a one-year deal worth $3.9 million. He picked up 10 saves for the Texas Rangers and Detroit Tigers last season. He had a 4.58 earned run average with Texas, before the Rangers designated him for assignment. Feliz chose free agency and the Tigers signed him last July. They did not tender him a contract following last season. He's a former American League rookie of the year, when he had 40 saves and struck out 71 batters in 69 1/3 innings for Texas in 2010.

Shea Patterson's quarterback rating (college formula) in leading the West to a 37-9 blowout victory in the annual U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game. Patterson diced up the East team for 90 yards and two touchdowns on 6 of 9 passing. It added up to Most Valuable Player award honors for the IMG Academy signal-caller, who has early enrolled at Ole Miss. Patterson's teammate this past fall, tight end Isaac Nauta committed to Georgia during the game.

Before last weekend's NFL road sweep, there had never been a Wild Card weekend where all four road teams were victorious. In fact, only six times had three teams won on the road in a single playoff round since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. And since the NFL adopted the current playoff format in 1990, the three out of four road victors occurrence has happened four times. The most recent was in 2014 when the Indianapolis Colts thwarted the Kansas City Chiefs 45-44. Speaking of the Chiefs, they successfully ended their winless playoff drought on Saturday. With the Cincinnati dropping an 18-16 decision to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bengals have now hit 25 years since their last playoff victory.
