Noteworthy
At the SWCD Open Board Meeting Nov. 7, several rules were tweaked. State Amateurs can now earn points to play in the new District Tournament Masters for state amateurs by playing in the Florida state tournaments held in this district if they partner with another player from this district.
The minimum number of points for a district amateur to qualify for the District Amateur Masters has been lowered from 5 to 3. This is an effort to insure that eight players will be eligible for a well-rounded District Amateur Masters annually. District amateurs may only play once in a lifetime. One exception to this rule is an alternate shuffler who played less than a whole Masters Tournament.
State amateurs may play in the SWCD State Amateur Masters with only one Master point if needed in order for the tourney to have eight players.
In SWCD Tournaments, players must record time leaving court between games, which is limited to 10 minutes.
Sue Daidone and Al Nuttall will serve as the nominating committee. See them if you covet a position on the executive board for next season.
Happy shuffling.
