The Monsters, a lacrosse team from Lakewood Ranch, fielded teams in four of the five divisions at this weekend's Rippin' at the Ranch LB3 Lacrosse tournament on the Premier Sports Campus, and all four put on overwhelming performances to win titles at the third annual tournament.
In the only other division, the high school group, a team from Florida also came out victorious.
The most dominant Monsters were the U15 team, which outscored its opponents 67-9 during a 5-0 run through group play Saturday. With their spot in the championship game secure, the Monsters blew out Tampa's Bay Area SandSharks U15 by a score of 12-3 on Sunday to win the division.
Every other winning Monsters team outscored opponents by at least 28 during group play and the U11 and U13 winners each posted at least plus-36 point differentials.

In U11, the Monsters outscored opponents 50-10. They were the second highest scoring team from the club. After eking out a one-goal win against the Orlando Lax Rats in the semis, the Monsters beat Jokers Green, a team from Georgia, 8-5 in the final to give the club another championship.
The U13 Monsters A also beat a Jokers team in the championship of its division in the rematch of a group-play thriller. Monsters A and Jokers A had already both posted double-digit victories during their first games of group play and fought to a draw when they met in Game 2. After the meeting, both finished up 3-0-1 group stages and eventually met after winning the semifinal. In the rematch, the Monsters pulled out a 6-5 victory to win the championship.
The U9 Monsters put up 41 goals in three games during the group stage to finish 3-0 and earn the top seed in bracket play. After shutting out Bay Area SandSharks U9 in the semifinal, the Monsters toppled LB3 CP22 Boca U9, a team from Boca Raton sponsored by Major League Lacrosse and National Lacrosse League star Casey Powell, 9-5 in the championship game.
In the high school field, Tampa's LB3 Tarpons 2016/17 Select overcame a 2-2 effort during pool play to beat LB3 PTC HS 7-4 in the title game and avenge a group-stage loss to the Peachtree City, Ga., club.
Manatee 10U wins district
After winning the 9U Cal Ripken District Tournament a year ago, Manatee made it a repeat last week with a district title in the 10U division against host North Tampa.
Manatee 10U took down North Tampa 3-2 in eight innings for the championship after beating them by 10 runs earlier in the tournament.
Manatee advances to the state tournament in Lakeland Highlands on July 9.
Meteors finish second
After losing their first game in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on June 15, the Florida Meteors reeled off seven straight wins before losing again and finished second at the Cal Ripken 12U High Tide Week-Long Experience Tournament. The Meteors played nine games across five days and only lost twice, both times to eventual champion Georgia Select, which went undefeated through the entire week.
After losing to Select and beating Illinois' Frankfort Force on the first day, Florida unloaded for 26 runs against Georgia's Mtn. View Bears and 23 against the Stallions Baseball Club of Missouri on Day 2. During the next two days, the Bradenton club earned blowout victories against the Wheeling (W.Va.) Heat and the Mill Creek Hawks from Georgia, plus a third win against the Illinois Valley Titans for a spot in the semifinals.
The Meteors earned another blowout win against Pennsylvania's GoWags Rockhounds in the semis before falling 13-3 to Georgia in the championship game June 19.
