Conor McGregor Gives No Effort When Signing His Autograph
Conor McGregor is going viral for the quality of his "autograph" on social media on Wednesday night.
Athletes are often going viral for the quality of their autographs. Some go all-out, making it clear what their name is and what they're signing. Others, meanwhile, try to make their signatures as easy as possible to replicate over and over and other, while not giving the best quality.
On Wednesday night, a video went viral, of the longtime MMA star signing a bunch of different posters.
"Conor McGregor signing posters is … something 🤨," cllct shared.
McGregor, though, is facing blowback for the signature. He's taking heat for the quality and the penmanship.
"This is not an autograph," Darren Rovell, the founder of cllct, shared online.
MMA fans react to quality of McGregor's autograph
Fans are not happy, immediately calling out the quality of his signature online.
"What a joke. How about giving a (expletive) to all those who helped you get rich," one fan wrote.
"Between this and the bubble of 1/1 cards - this hobby is cooked right?" one fan added.
"That's a man who doesn't care that it's an autograph," one fan added.
"Do better," one added.
"What a colossal waste of money & time," another fan added on social media.
Ultimately, an autograph is an autograph, and whatever someone wants to make their signature is technically going to be their signature. And, it's understandable that an athlete would want to make their signature as quick as possible, given that they're often asked to sign a bunch of things at once.
Still, it's reasonable for fans to be disappointed by the quality of McGregor's signature, given that it's hardly recognizable.
