Bobby Portis Discusses Milwaukee-Miami Trade: ‘It Hurts'

NBA veteran Bobby Portis was included in the blockbuster trade that sent him and Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat - ending his six-year stint with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Portis was beloved in Milwaukee, helping the franchise secure an NBA title in 2021. Now, the 31-year-old forward turns the page to the next chapter of his NBA career.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Portis admitted that the trade was painful.

“Obviously when you get traded, it hurts. But I’m at ease with everything that I’ve been able to accomplish [in Milwaukee],” Portis said, via Lily Zhao of Fox6Now.

Portis finds solace in the fact that he’s making the move to Miami with Antetokounmpo at his side.

“It means the world, obviously. You get to get traded with someone that you’re familiar with. It would have been different if I got traded by myself to a team where I didn’t know anybody,” Portis added.
