Arizona Adds 6-foot-11 Dutch Prospect as Tommy Lloyd Builds on Final Four Run

Tommy Lloyd's Arizona Wildcats finished 36-3 last season, captured both the Big 12 regular season and tournament titles, earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and reached the program's first Final Four since 2001.

Arizona opened the season 23-0, stacked wins over elite programs like Florida, UConn, Alabama, and Houston, and developed into one of the nation's most balanced teams with a top-tier offense and defense.

The Wildcats powered through the NCAA Tournament with wins over LIU, Utah State, Arkansas, and Purdue before falling to eventual national champion Michigan in the Final Four.

While the end result wasn’t the national championship some had imagined, the run changed Arizona's national perception.

Lloyd silenced lingering postseason criticism, signed a major contract extension, and positioned Arizona as one of college basketball's premier destinations for both elite American recruits and international prospects.

Now the Wildcats are leaning even harder into that identity.

On Friday, Arizona announced the signing of Dutch forward Endurance Aiyamenkhue, a 6-foot-11 international prospect who played this past season for Orange Academy in Germany.

The 18-year-old began his career with Millennium Basketball Club in the Netherlands before moving to Germany in 2023 to join Ratiopharm Ulm's Orange Academy system, a program known for developing high-level international prospects.

Aiyamenkhue steadily climbed the ladder overseas. After averaging just 3.2 points and 3.6 rebounds as a 16-year-old in Germany's ProB league during the 2023-24 season, he made a major leap over the next two years.

In 2025-26, the big man emerged as one of Orange Academy's most productive players, averaging 11.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, and a team-high 1.3 blocks while shooting 62% from the field.

He also gained experience with Ratiopharm Ulm's senior structure and appeared in EuroCup action, while starring internationally for the Netherlands at the 2025 FIBA U18 European Championship Division B, where he averaged 13.4 points and 12.7 rebounds.

Arizona's biggest offseason question centered on the frontcourt after its Final Four run exposed how thin the Wildcats could become against elite size and physicality late in the NCAA Tournament.

Coach Lloyd needed more rebounding, rim protection, and developmental depth behind returning big men, especially with Arizona expected to lose key veteran production from its 2025-26 rotation.

That is where Aiyamenkhue fits naturally. The tall Dutch forward brings length, mobility, and professional experience from Germany's ProB league, giving Arizona another athletic defender who can rebound outside his area and protect the paint in Lloyd's fast-paced system.

The Wildcats have also reloaded aggressively elsewhere since the season ended, landing top recruits Caleb Holt and Cameron Holmes, while adding guards Derek Dixon and JJ Mandaquit to strengthen perimeter depth.

Together, the additions signal that Arizona is building for sustained Final Four contention rather than a one-year breakthrough.
