Jamahl Mosley's Blunt Response to Magic's Humiliating Game 6 Loss

With a 60-38 halftime lead, the Orlando Magic appeared like they were about to take down the No. 1 seed Detroit Pistons in the first round on Friday night.

However, the Magic were held to 19 points in the second half, suffering a 93-79 defeat in Game 6 in front of 19,205 fans at Kia Center. Cade Cunningham led the Pistons to the dramatic comeback, scoring a game-high 32 points to go along with 10 rebounds and three assists.

Orlando will travel to play the Pistons in a win-or-go-home Game 7 on Sunday.

The Magic went cold shooting in the second half, making just four shots out of 37 attempts against the Pistons' energized defense.

During his postgame news conference, Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley offered a blunt response to the second-half collapse.

"There's no other way to put it, it does suck," Mosley said, via Jason Beede of Orlando Sports.

The outcome was embarrassing for Magic players and frustrating for Orlando fans, who booed the team as they exited the court.

Mosley noted that the Magic have no choice but to win the series the hard way, going to Detroit. Orlando will enter that contest without any momentum they should have had as the No. 8 seed taking a No. 1 seed to Game 7.

Pistons forward Duncan Robinson told reporters after the game that their team came together after the slow start in Game 6.

“When things get sideways, people splinter. And this group does the opposite,” Robinson said, via ESPN. “It finds a way to just come together. There’s a lot of pride in that locker room, not wanting to go out like that.”

The Magic should have a chip on their shoulder for Sunday after blowing a series-clinching win at home. It remains to be seen if the Magic will use what happened on Friday night as motivation or if they’ll splinter.
